Very good service, exquisite food, an overall good experience. Did not expect to find this gem in Glenwood

I frequent this place when I come to Glenwood Springs , mostly just because most of the places I've eaten at in this town are severely bland and generally icky. Their Chinese and Thai dishes are pretty ok. I keep trying to have new things when I come, but should really just stick to their Thai curry. Their bulgogi tastes nothing like actual bulgogi but is decent. When I ordered take out I asked for plates and utensils, as I'm staying in a hotel, and got neither. umm, let me just eat this lo mein with my fingers? and $2 for a can of coke?? rip off.

Sushi was well made. Prepared quickly. Sweet sour chicken, volcano shrimp, red tofu curry. All recommended

Quirky service but the food was great. We had like four people coming over but no one brought us napkins or flatware. I really liked the sushi but had to ask for the sushi menu at a sushi joint. Weird. They weren't that busy but seemed a bit overwhelmed for some reason. Good food though.

We ordered takeout and I wish that I would have looked in the bag before I left. We ordered sweet and sour chicken which unlike many Asian restaurants, did not come with rice. Apparently, Taipei Tokyo's sweet and sour chicken doesn't come with sweet and sour sauce either. It was just fried flavorless chicken and my husband only ate half of it because he was hungry. I ordered sushi which was pretty decent and some seaweed salad which was very seeweedy so therefore I can't just give the restaurant one star. The people working there that I saw were not Asian but they were very nice and offered me water while I was waiting. I would recommend eating Chinese food at Chinatown instead of here. It's much more authentic and delicious.

The food and service is outstanding !!! We come here every time that we are in Glenwood. Good choices between Chinese, Japanese and Thai. The sizzing beef and scallop was especially good. The White Russian drink special was done perfectly. !

The egg drop soup tasted good, but was barely warm. There were little pieces of raw egg whites in it, we asked about it, but they said it was a thickener (?) Couldn't eat anymore of it after that! My husbands beef and broccoli was cold. The waitress was inattentive, and never once asked us how everything was... I'm guessing she didn't want to know. The sushi was the only thing that was enjoyable. Won't come back here and can't recommend it to anyone unfortunately. I'm not a picky eater, so for me to have this bad of an experience... well, that's not good!

I'm negative 4 stars because I had to wait for a beer while the dingy server walked by countless times cleaning and putting cloths on tables. The sushi gets this place out of the negative as the Shogun roll was tasty. If you're that busy, hire another server, because the waiting for another beer or trying to make eye contact to order it, was a little frustrating.

Great Decor, and Friendly Fast Service. I ordered the Wontons and Sesame Chicken With White Rice. Comes with 6 Wontons with Crab and two different dipping sauces. Perfectly cooked with good mounds of crab inside. The Sesame Chicken came out hot and fresh and the white rice was perfectly steamed. Huge Portions that 2 people could split. I took left overs home. They Have sushi which seems kind of pricey, and have Chinese, Japanese and Thai on the menu.

We are staying in Glenwood and ordered delivery. They were very quick which was good but the food was lacking. The beef in the fried rice seemed to be very under cooked and chewy. We couldn't eat it. The rice had no flavor. The sesame chicken was ok. Crab rangoons were over cooked.

The food was some of the best Chinese food I've had! The visit started out a little rough because after we chose outdoor dining out waitress never came to take our drink order or even give us me menus. We moved to indoor seating and then things went smoother. Food was excellent. Staff could have been friendlier and I would make a suggestion that they allow more dishes to be made in 1/2 orders since there is no kids menu.

I originally tried this restaurant sort of by accident a couple of years ago. It was surprisingly good, so I started making it a regular stop when I was in the area. Since then, I've even entertained business guests at Taipei Tokyo. However, I have to warn you that from the street, it appears to be the last place you'd expect to find a decent meal. After all, it's at the end of a strip mall in Glenwood Springs Colorado. Aside from that, the food is great, the staff is friendly, and I've never had a poor experience here. I truly look forward to each and every trip to Glenwood Springs - because I always know where I'll be going for dinner! P.S. I've eaten here so often that the owner recognizes me by sight. Every once in a while, Michael will offer me a taste-test of something that he's experimenting with... something that he likes to call: Japanese fusion.

Taipei Tokyo is my favorite Asian slash sushi in Glenwood Springs. I eat here every few weeks. They are reliable with family friendly portions and a diverse menu that has something to please everyone. Definitely good value. My family favorites are green curry, fried rice, shanghai dumplings and the sushi sampler. If u r a sushi snob u may need to keep driving up valley to be satisfied.

Can't expect much from sushi in the mountains. Sesame chicken tasted awful and lacked chicken. The Sapporo was good. I'll recommend that. Maybe that's all the people with 4 or 5 stars ordered.

I don't know how the rating gets so high, but it's kinda a disappointment for us. one of us choose the buffet, it's about the least variety of Chinese buffet I have ever seen, but the most expensive, about $10 for lunch. my friend didn't like most of the stuff, too greasy and the most basic hot and sour soup wasn't done right. I got a wonton soup with plenty of crunch veges, undercooked carrots and peas. and tiny wontons that the wraps were way more than meat. the bf ordered dandan noodle that was tasteless, for 11 dollars. we were happy with the Peking duck tho, at $17, we get a pile of shredded duck breast and 2 legs with skin on. it was tender, crunchy and flavorful. paired with the side wraps ( kinda like tortilla), cucumber, chives(?) and sweet sauce, it was yummy. I only wish the wraps were warmer, so they were soft and perfect for wrapping, not cracked open like ours. service wise, the server and busboy were very friendly and helpful, not the lady at counter. she kinda just rushed through the customers with no facial expression and no conversation. next time we are in town, I would just get a peking duck to go.

Duck Duck Goose! We've been going for the Peking Duck, and again it was terrific. The skin of the duck is crispy, the meat is juicy and full of flavor. They shred the green onions instead of "flowering" them for looks. It's much easier to eat that way, and I'm all business when it comes to eating. My other favorite is not to be had anymore. They used to serve a small piece of a spice cake at the end of the meal, with the fortune cookie. I remember asking about it one time and it was a family recipe. It turns out that Taipei Tokyo has new owners since about 3 months ago, and even though the Peking Duck was up to par, they apparently didn't pass along the secret recipe for the spice cake. I was sad. I guess I was looking forward to that as much as the Duck.
